CHI - The Art Manifestation in a World of Commerce

TV BOY is an Italian street artist who occupies an important place on both the Italian and world street art scene. He is well known for his works on topical and provocative topics. TV BOY began creating his works on the streets of Italy in the 1990s, and in 1996 his works began to conquer the Northern capital of Italy – the city of Milan, and then other cities. Ten years later, the street artist moved to Barcelona, where he still lives. Currently, he travels around the world and almost every month, and sometimes more often, creates new masterpieces.

For his work, TV BOY initially drew inspiration from comics, video games and pop art and created ironic and funny images in the spirit of animation and comics. Such artists as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Keith Haring influenced on him, as well as works by Japanese sculptors such as Takashi Murakami. Now he is more interested in real personalities, which he portrays in a humorous, ironic form. His works cover the topics of migration, elections, ecology, modern values, homosexuality, and many others. Using portraits of celebrities in various ways, he interprets the present reality, highlighting both positive aspects (protection of migrants, solving certain problems, sports victories) and negative aspects (bad ecology, racial discrimination). He appeals to different colors, his works are made in the poster technique (although initially the artist started with graffiti and stencils) in the style of city pop art, attract with their brightness and colorfulness. So, for a street artist, it is typical to make ironic and caricature images, visual notes, and portraits in a pronounced style.


Collaborations | 协同合作

The street artist actively collaborates with fashion brands. He designed storefronts and interior halls of such brands, hotels and stores as La Roca Village, Byblos Art Hotel in Verona, painted Ruolo brand stores in honor of the football championship, and created a short love story for La Rinascente.

His work at various times was decorated with stationery, gadgets, lamps and other accessories (for example - COMIX GIFT, Total Juggling srl, Inoxcrom, Seven). Images of the street artist were attracted to the design of clothing and shoes (Nike, Griff, CLA, Only & Sons). This year, he also had two major and successful collaborations with fashion brands.


TV BOY x Eleven Paris

In 2020 TV BOY began a collaboration with the Parisian fashion brand Eleven Paris. In the men's collection, t-shirts and hoodies were released with prints of works by a street artist with images of characters from the art world (Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat and others). Among many images were images associated with Paris: for example, the Mona Lisa – a portrait based on the original Leonardo da Vinci, which is located in the Louvre, or Freedom from the painting Eugène Delacroix, which leads the French people during the revolution.


TV BOY x ZARA

In the same year, TV BOY, in collaboration with the Spanish retail chain Zara, released its own t-shirt in the men's collection of the brand as part of the “Join Life” capsule collection. This manufacturer has obtained a license for one of the images of an Italian street artist – “Vincent Selfie”. TV BOY appeared in a limited edition on t-shirts made of pure cotton, which can be purchased through an online store (due to Covid-19 in many countries and cities, Zara stores are closed for visits) for just 18 euros. Selfie of Vincent van Gogh on a blue background big size printed front top, and rear on a red background depicts “Vincent Van Hipster”, which also makes a selfie with the original logo of the artist.


TV BOY – personal brand

Currently, the street artist produces his own clothing line with his images. TV BOY's works are printed on sneakers, shoppers, clothing (t-shirts and hoodies), issued as lithographs, serigraphs, canvases, etc. His clothing is made from high-quality cotton and is delivered all over the world. This commercial project gives him the opportunity not only to monetize his works, but also to express himself, to convey his message to the masses. Most often, the artist prints such popular works as “kisses” (for example, such works as “The royal kiss”, “Stop violence”, “True love never dies” and others are printed on plain t-shirts), “hipsters” (for example, “Leo Loves Lisa”). His collection is updated every year, adding new works on current topics, such as “Love in the time of corona virus” and “I want you to stay home”. Also, in addition to his works, the artist's logo and nickname are printed on clothing.

They will always be attractive and successful with the public, as they have a bright style and answer topical questions, raise important and actual topics.
